Upset City!

Not to take anything away from U-dub, but didn’t we all see this coming?  I do believe that if Barkley started this game, USC would have escaped with a win, but it would have been Houdini like.  Nonetheless, USC hasn’t impressed me one bit since the start of the season, and don’t expect this to be the only loss for them in 2009.  Everyone made a big deal about their win at the Horseshoe, but it was as I’d say “whatever.”

But like I said, I don’t want to take anything away from the Huskies.  After their Detroit Lions like performance last year, they’ve performed admirably this season (so far) and should be commended.  They are no longer push-overs, and they play with a lot of heart & guts.  Unfortunately for them, this is the climax of their season, and it’s only their third game!  So go on, celebrate it like you just won the Rose Bowl, the Huskies deserve to!

Now in all honesty, Cal (my favorite college football team) didn’t look too studly themselves.  Jahvid Best was making mince meat out of the Gopher D in the first half, but was nearly non-existent in the second.  I don’t know what to blame it on?  Did Minnesota’s D really stiffen up, loading up the box?  Did Cal forget Best played for them, as he only got a handful of carries in the second half, then again, Cal seemed to only have 4 possessions or so in the second half.  I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m not too happy with the win.  There are definitely things Cal needs to improve on, but hey, it could be worse, we could be USC right now.

On a side note, I really wish Cal was the team to force USC off the Pac-10 throne, the Trojans couldn’t wait two more weeks to show how over-rated they are this year?

This has nothing to do with the Pac-10 but, Tim Tebow’s a hero of mine.  By the way, he’s the second most popular Filipino!
